Counseling offers

Our Counseling offers for you

We offer counseling to all LGBTQIA+ people over 18 living in Berlin. We also support anyone connected to LGBTQIA+ people—such as partners, parents, social workers, doctors, and others. All conversations are confidential, free of charge, and can be anonymous if you wish. You can reach us in person, through video call, by phone, or by email.

Languages available: German and English (and a little Russian for housing advice/at QUEERHOME*).
If you need another language, we can arrange an interpreter for you. Please email us in advance so we have time to organize this.

We welcome all your questions and concerns.

We are here to help you understand difficult situations, get clarity, and find ways of coping that really work for you.

Maybe you have questions about things like transitioning, coming out, or sexuality. Sometimes we can answer these directly. If not, we can point you to people or places who can help. Even if you just feel lost and unsure—like if you’re not certain whether you’re queer, trans, agender, or something else—we’re happy to listen and support you as you explore.

Having stress at work? Have you been misgendered by an office or service? Maybe you’ve experienced discrimination—or you’re just not sure if what happened counts. You can tell us your story. We take your experiences seriously and always make space for your feelings.

If you want, we can offer a first legal opinion and talk through possible next steps together. We follow your lead and support what feels right for you—whether that’s making a report in the Berlin register, writing a complaint letter, or finding more help. We’re on your side, every step of the way.

If you have faced discrimination related to housing or finding an apartment, please choose QUEERHOME* (housing advice) for your request.

Are you in a relationship and running into problems that you can’t solve alone? Many relationships face rough patches—maybe it’s about communication, differences in how much closeness or space you need, or finding the balance between being close and staying independent.

We offer relationship counseling, though our capacity is limited. Professional counseling can help you understand how your relationship works, notice patterns, and find new ways forward together. Together, you can work toward a happier, healthier relationship for everyone involved.

If you need more specialized support—like couples therapy, conflict mediation, or ongoing guidance—we can recommend a small list of relationship therapists from our network to help you.

Do you work with LGBTQIA+ people and have questions on topics like transition or coming out? Would you like to reflect on your knowledge and experiences with us, or get help transferring what you know into your daily work? Maybe personal topics or feelings come up for you sometimes, and you want a safe space to talk about how these affect your work. In a one-on-one session, you can talk to us in confidence about anything on your mind.

If you work in housing emergency support or have housing-related questions for queer clients, please choose QUEERHOME* for your request.

You are also welcome to bring your client with you to a session, if that feels right for both of you.

As with all our offerings, we are always on the side of LGBTQIA+ people and their diverse needs.

Are you a parent, partner, sibling, friend, or otherwise close to someone who is LSBTIAQ+? Maybe you’re unsure how to handle certain topics that are important for your loved one. Or perhaps you want to find ways to support both your loved one and yourself.

If you are a relative of a trans* person, there’s a special group at Sonntags-Club just for you. All relatives can also use our one-on-one counseling, or come together with your loved one for a joint session if you both want that.

For relatives of queer people facing housing problems or questions about finding a place to live, please select QUEERHOME* (housing advice) when reaching out.

If you have any questions about housing for queer people, QUEERHOME* is the right place to ask. Are you queer and currently homeless, sleeping outside or in emergency shelters, or not sure where you’ll stay next? Maybe you need to leave your apartment or have lost your home. You might be staying with someone on their couch, living in a hostel, or moving from one temporary place to another. Or maybe you just have questions about finding long-term housing or joining a shared flat. We will do our best to support you in any of these situations. We’re also here for professionals and relatives of queer people who are struggling with housing.
We want to respond quickly to the many requests for help. That’s why we usually start by discussing questions over the phone or in writing. Later, we can meet in person for counseling or at one of our community events.

Do you have a legal issue? We can connect you with partner lawyers for a free initial consultation. We help with questions about the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), labor law, criminal law, and tenancy (housing) law.

Please email us for more information. For questions about tenancy law, please select QUEERHOME* (housing advice) in your message.
